Most deserved McD’s ever

The host of activities around Vancouver doesn’t cease to amaze me and, like they say for vacations, I need a weekend to recover from the weekend. =P

Friday night, we went dancing at Robson Square as part of the Summertime Dance Series. Waltzing was the focus of the evening and as usual, the venue was idyllic. I am happy to have stayed long enough to catch the second set of demonstrations (latin dance) and see a samba interpretation of Shakira/Wyclef Jean’s “Hips Don’t Lie.” It was hot and inspiring…..

Saturday was another day at Deep Cove and I got to kayak!! It was so peaceful while being a satisfying workout. I had even planned a hike to Quarry Rock with specatular lookout views of the Indian Arm but that plan was quickly thwarted when a little garter snake zipped across the path near the trailhead. I turned on my heel – there was no f-ing way I was continuing/starting! Got cardio on the Stanley Park Seawall instead, sort of.

In a city slicker turn, we head to the Night Market (largest outside of Asia) for a cornucopia of Asian food goodies. Everything was a little nutty – the parking, the crowds, the line-up for the popular items.

Sunday morning was another 16K after which I downed the tastiest Sausage ‘N’ Egg McMuffin ever. The weekend was really catching up to me and the rest of the day was quiet except for walking around trendy Kerrisdale and discovering a cute sushi spot. Gosh, I need one more day….

food after a good long run tastes sooo good. i think that may be one of the main reasons i work out. :)

you are so active! i really admire that. and that nightmarket seems insane just from the website.

Running is a bit of an appetite suppressant for me – unless McDonald’s breakfast is dangled before me! =P

It is easy and fun to be active and stuff the weekend to the gills when there is someone else who is just as into having fun. ;-)

You did definitely deserve that! I see that you’re still a social butterfly!
