Twisted running-related facts about yours truly….
* By the time of my next race (see side bar), I’ll be 30. That’s a new field for me that I can hardly believe has arrived: F30-39!
* My emergency contact is not family but NPY.
* At the beginning of the year and a few times during the year, I mark the early bird registration deadlines in my Google Calendar
* I take on the “responsibility” of reminding my running group mailing list of early bird deadlines, frugal/cheapy me!
* I’m stoked about how special the 10th anniversary SVHM shirt might be.
* Despite the Sun Run (10K) t-shirts hardly changing, I’m nonetheless looking forward to beholding this year’s version.
* It is nearly impossible but I feel a bit disappointed when I don’t get to see everyone I know who is participating in the 50,000-participant Sun Run!
(Psst, the early bird deadline of the Sun Run and the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon is today!)
Aaah. That’s so sweet that NPY is your emergency contact. I remember when I put the boyf as mine for the first time. Very happy for you xxx
Hi Wyn, I’m doing the SVHM and Sun Run, too! Very excited about my second half, mainly because I’ve heard everyone gets a good time at Scotiabank because of the net downhill, heh. I haven’t decided if I’ll do the RR clinic again…I’ve started enjoying solo running again now that I live closer to the Seawall. Best of luck with your training! Mine has only semi-started.
Hi Heidi. It’s great to hear that you’re doing the SVHM! It’s a great route – it felt downhill for all but a few stretches. I would just say to watch out for Burrard St. Bridge, it’s hard it comes around, and to prepare your gear for possibly a soaked gear check.
