NPY’s PotD*: Day Sixteen

< Next PotDPrevious PotD >

His:

NPY spent a nice afternoon and evening at a golfing + work event. The weather worked out really well, not directly sunny and not raining. I need to work for somewhere that does golfing + work! (Although I don’t golf.) I wish I had more interest in learning golf as it’s something that NPY and I could do together. If you knew how different the things we enjoy doing, you’d know how we could use something in common!

Hers:

Ack, it seems like I’ve bungled up my PotD and should have used this yesterday instead of Drama Clean. I’ll be playing catch up for a couple of days, I guess, and still presenting things in chronological order!

On Wednesday, I went to my second TIFF movie. TIFF was definitely one of the Toronto things I wanted to do since I’ve long been done with the landmarks. Other Toronto things I want to check out include Fashion Week, Nuit Blanche + Food Truck Eats, Reel Asian Film Festival, just to name a few. Two fun-sounding festivals took place at Harbourfront on consecutive weekends (Hot & Spicy Food Festival and Vegetarian Festival) but I haven’t managed to go. Other events in the general region on my list include the Niagara-on-the-Lake wine festival (next weekend) and, further out in time and distance, the Ice Wine Festival and Winterlude!

Going to watch Butter on Wednesday marks the first time in my life I’ve watched a movie alone, but there is no stigma at a festival. The older couple behind me came in from cottage country and the popular topic of the day (of the week) is discussion of the films you have seen, want to see, or have heard about. Although I was actually in line a little over the recommended one hour early, the queue was so long it went around the corner of a long block–it turned out to be a blessing because we waited out of direct sunlight. The film was screened in Elgin Theatre which I wouldn’t otherwise have visited any time soon and it was one of those movies where I couldn’t smiling. Favourite film so far. One more to go on Saturday, I think.

* NPY’s Picture of the Day. While I’m in Toronto and he is in Vancouver, 3400km away, we will try to share with each other (and consequently this blog) pictures that capture our day.
