He said, “Bumped into Frank and Edith too. Frank and I were talking a few minutes and was alerted later by Randy that something was matching between us. We didn’t even realize until then.”
They had a great weekend in Vancouver and the perfect way to end a day is at the Summer Night Market in Richmond that stays lively while the rest of the city closes shop. NPY say that after taking the picture, Edith jokingly called the guys something like “major dorks”! I just say these guys have a good sense of taste.
Sunday was the kind of busy day that keeps me on my toes, I’m glad to have been out and “active” after a super lazy, but pleasant, Saturday with my sister. Woke up at 6 in some anxiety because I was going to buy two freshly released tickets for TIFF films at 7 a.m. and then caught a bit of a nap until 9 when I started getting ready–cute and fashionable for TIFF, you know. Then a mad dash downtown via two transit systems and I was at the AMC 24 waiting to get into my first TIFF film!
Earlier this month, I suggested catching a TIFF movie and Vin suggested Breakaway and we were decided. We were impressed that a large proportion of the movie’s cast was present–including Russell Peters and Vin’s homeland hero Anupam Kher–at the beginning to say some words although we were just an afternoon crowd the day after their real premiere. The movie was cute and touching and didn’t shy away from serious issues. After soaking up some sunny Sunday/TIFF/Yonge-Dundas crowds, we went to the only Ethiopian restaurant I know to go to in town, Lalibela near Ossington Station. It happened to be Ethiopian New Year, but we don’t need much of an excuse for a fun and filling communal meal of injera, curries, spicy doro wat, and kitfo!
* NPY’s Picture of the Day. While I’m in Toronto and he is in Vancouver, 3400km away, we will try to share with each other (and consequently this blog) pictures that capture our day.
