He says, “I went to the dentist today. ;(“
After a first glance, NPY was told that he would probably have to return to the dentist’s office a couple of times to complete his scaling! It turns out their estimate was overzealous and all the manual scaling was completed in the one appointment. He was so anxious he rolled with the default process at the new-to-him dentist and did not inquire about them using the ultrasonic scaling tool which I “enjoy” each time at my appointments. And I also learned that some people don’t get a choice of fluoride flavours–otherwise I would have pegged NPY to pick strawberry (wink). I have always had a choice at my dentist in Halifax and then in Vancouver, tending to choose the berry flavours over mint over (blech) unflavoured.
NPY didn’t make his next appointment (in 9 months) but I’ve diarized to remind him. It’s not so bad now it’s over, right??
Currently reading… accounting textbooks. I took my first accounting course in July and finished it in 8 weeks. I need to finish the second half in order to claim a full credit and it will unfortunately take more than 8 weeks given there are 50% more assignments and I will try to take the exam off-site and not be able to schedule it so conveniently. I need little things like these landmarks to spur me on, like celebrating (quietly) finishing all the material in Volume One and starting in on Volume Two.
One thing keeps running through my head as I’m studying, “I really wish I had learned all this earlier!”
* NPY’s Picture of the Day. While I’m in Toronto and he is in Vancouver, 3400km away, we will try to share with each other (and consequently this blog) pictures that capture our day.
