He says, “Finally got my drivers licence renewed today and got Swiss chalet as an extra for dinner.”
Good thing about renewing his license–it has been expired for a couple weeks!
Yum, Swiss Chalet. NPY used to disparage Swiss Chalet as an adequate meal. I agree it’s as if the quarter chicken dinners shrank or I just grew up in size so in that way, it’s not quite adequate.
Did I break my chip-free streak by eating a Late Night Snack that has fudge-covered potato chip clusters? Okay, fine, since my streak after last weekend’s long-distance driving was down to zero days.
We visited the Ben & Jerry’s in Ann Arbor twice in two days. On Saturday, the first night, I wanted to try the Late Night Snack flavour with “Fair Trade Certified vanilla ice cream, fudge covered potato chip clusters & a salty caramel swirl” inspired by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but they were out. I tried Americone Dream instead and did not like the heavy caramel swirl. We thought we’d try our luck the next day after brunch but, not surprisingly, they did not have a new carton of Late Night Snack and we shared two sorbet flavours. I thought some of these flavours (especially Americone Dream and Oh-Coneda) might be exclusive to the country in their name but I saw Late Night Snack at the Ben & Jerry’s kiosk at Vaughan Mills and just had to try it. Salty presence in a sweet dessert is a concept that works very well for me!
I use the Martin Wedepohl Recover Time desktop widget to keep track of how long I have staved off eating chips. They are like an addiction to me.
* NPY’s Picture of the Day. While I’m in Toronto and he is in Vancouver, 3400km away, we will try to share with each other (and consequently this blog) pictures that capture our day.
