NPY’s PotD*: Day Thirty-Two

< Next PotDPrevious PotD >

NPY went to a retirement dinner for a colleague that was held at Victoria Chinese Restaurant downtown. He showed another colleague a photo of me on his iPhone that someone else (with a good DSLR camera) took and she said that I reminded her of another person at the company. That would be the second person at his (large) company that I look like and I’m intrigued. I’ve heard that when people meet the person they supposedly look like, they would disagree about the resemblance but I’m seriously intrigued now.

Menchie’s is coming to Vancouver soon and I laughed a little because the first location I know about is on Cambie right next to the Running Room that opened last week. And to top it off, Menchie’s isn’t like Qoola, the established froyo chain in Vancouver, that seems all healthy and fruity. Menchie’s froyo flavours are mostly confection and dessert based like red velvet (which I had to try), chocolate peanut butter, and cake batter–none of those healthy-sounding pomegranate, strawberry, and green tea flavours! And although some fruits were represented for toppings, most of the toppings are candy and chocolates. No candy topping (like sour keys) for us because that’s gross but we tried at least six toppings and decided next time, we’d just stick with Skor bits and Nesquick cereal most!

* NPY’s Picture of the Day. While I’m in Toronto and he is in Vancouver, 3400km away, we will try to share with each other (and consequently this blog) pictures that capture our day.
