July 2012 Canada Glossy Box (mini review)

I’m a little late on this month’s Glossy Box post as I have been away for work followed directly by holidays and didn’t pick up my box on August 1 when it was delivered. Huh. For once, the Glossy Box fell outside of the month. Lil’ Sis snapped photos of the products so I could blog this before I got back. Here’s the quickest run-down and my impression/reaction from afar.

Zoya Professional Lacquer in a candy pink shade
15 mL / $8

Looks like a great shade for my toes, or a weekend shade for my nails.
Tried it: I was more than a little skeptical about the shade, afterall, who’s to know what shade I want? But then I tried it and the shade [Kimber] is really nice! The polish looks really thin but goes on with a vibrant colour and all over shimmer with the first coat. It’s really eye-popping and very much a red-pink that suits me more than a pink shade.

Dove visiblecare softening creme body wash
200 mL / $5.99

A drugstore brand. But useful.

Alessandro International pedix Feet Heel Rescue Balm
30 mL ($19.95 for 100 mL)

Useful and this stuff goes fast. I’m addicted to using foot cream.
Tried it: Very lightly scented like sweet mint, feels great but doesn’t seem to absorb very well. That or I used too much and a small amount will be sufficient.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Sheer Solution
10 mL ($14.99 for 60 mL)

This is great. I don’t have an anti-frizz products and this is a decent size. I hope it is a little spray bottle and not something I have to get all over my hands.

Beauty So Clean Cosmetic Sanitizer Wipes
4 units ($12.50 for 48 packets)

Useful.

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Strawberry
2.6 g / $5.99

I’ve heard great reviews of this product so I’m happy to get to try it. Strawberry smells like a delicious shade and it wouldn’t be altogether inappropriate since it’s just tinted lip balm.

Box total: $29.51
Monthy box fee: $15

As far as I’m concerned, Glossy Box has bounced back from their summer-centric and disappointing June box with small but high-end (Zoya, Alessandro and John Frieda) and mid-range (Burt’s Bees and Dove) samples. Three (four?) full size products are included and the foot balm looks decent-sized. The box’s value is less than before but I will use all five of the products.

On this day..
