To be fair, I did receive the November Glossy Box yesterday, on the 30th, but I only received the email from concierge of my parcel in the evening, after I had changed into pajamas and tucked myself into bed. I’ve been sick for the past couple of days so I was loathed to trek downstairs. I was apt to fall asleep blogging anyways.
This months’ box was heavy and the brown external box was practically bulging. What treats would there be this month??
Kryolan for GlossyBox blusher in Glossy Rosewood
GlossyBox exclusive – 2.5g / $16.73
In another collaboration with Glossy Box, Kryolan presents blusher in Glossy Rosewood. I received blush in my first Glossy Box (March) and used it for a week or two before it fell off my routine because I never leave myself enough time! The last Kryolan collaboration was on lipstick in the August box which I do use everyday and love that stuff.
Curel Hand & Cuticle Therapy Cream
100mL / $3.99
We last saw Curel in the May box in the form of foot cream. That I much appreciated and wonder just how different hand cream formulation is from foot cream. This is a delightful if prosaic product with a slightly different (less scented) unscented smell that promises to keep on working through hand-washings. I find this difficult to believe but several brands make the same claim.
Tried it: The hand cream is thick and absorbs without leaving a sticky or “extra” feeling on the hands.
Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Holiday Shades in Kardashing through the Snow
15mL / $10.99
My first OPI nail polish, albeit Nicole by OPI which I had to dig around but learned was launched alongside the salon professional brand to meet the needs of the retail market and line the shelves of the likes of Walmart and Target. The shades and collaborations are a bit more pop and brasher than the OPI line, case in point, Kardashians. This is one glittering shade and I would have selected for myself another one of the Holiday Shades. I wonder if Glossies got other colours.
Vitabath Hand Creme
4.2oz / $17.00
Can they read my mind or is Glossy Box tailoring products to my needs (which runs the risk of pigeon-holing my samples)? Lately I have been worried a great deal about my age (spending time with people younger than you does not make me feel youthful) and having it show in my hands. So I have been much more conscious about moisturizing the backs of my hands although I still won’t wear gloves to do the dishes. I hate how the rubber smell lingers. There is 20% shea butter in the formula and the orange packaging indicates the Fresh Citrus Twist scent. Still, two hand creams in one box? I do wonder if everyone received that.
Maybelline MNY My Gloss
9mL / $7.49
This is one cute tube of lipgloss. The Glossy postcard was mum about this product with just “Maybelline MNY provides fashionistas around hte world with sensational products in trendy colours.” I guess we pretty much know how to use this one.
Nexxus Salon Hair Care: Hydration Kit
Therappe shampoo: 89mL / $2.22
Humectress conditioner: 89mL / $3.33
Last month, I grumbled how shampoo and conditioner were counted as separate items when everyone knows that you have to follow shampoo with conditioning. When the shampoo and conditioner are packaged in a box together, then–well–it can only be counted as one product. I have seen this salon hair product on the drug store shelves but haven’t tried it before. Looking forward to it, hydration being what is needed badly at this time of year.
In addition, there was a 50% off loyalty card for Uber Products, based out of the UK, but that requires spending more money. Overall, it was a good and practical box and I’m pleased.
Monthly box fee: $21
Box value: $61.75
On this day..

It’s interesting that we got different things… I got the nail polish in ‘Here We Kome A-Karoling’, a rich metallic plum colour, and the Vitabath Bath Gelee in the same scent as your hand creme (citrus). In the picture your lip gloss looks like a sort of peach shade, but mine is pale gold. Is yours actually peach, or is it just the photo?
It is interesting to get and compare the box samples. You actually can’t tell from my photo but Kardashing through the Snow nail polish is this glitter with every colour in the bottle. I think I would have preferred the plum you received.
Bath gelee (gel) sounds super-fun to use and the citrus scent will be invigorating in the mornings!
Pale gold could describe the colour of my lipgloss but I still see a hint of peach. There is not descriptive name for the shade but simply the number 485??
I’m envious that you got the Nexxus products. I got some cheapo drugstore brand shampoo and conditioner that is not suitable for my afro texture hair.
Also, that blush doesn’t even show up on my skin.
I was so disappointed with this month. Oh well, you can’t win them all.
Yeah, I heard other some people got Clear shampoo and conditioner instead of Nexxus and Clear was giving away the product on the streets all summer. (I picked up so much, haha. I love the conditioner though, it’s really thick and it works.) Still, it’s not as high end as Nexxus (which is also in drug stores) so I can see the disappointment. :(
